Piano and Cello
Joshua Lowery is a recent music composition graduate from the University of Tulsa. He began piano at the age of 3 and continued that training throughout college under Dr. William Roger Price. During university, he performed solo works, accompanied regularly, and plays piano for the Tulsa Ballet Center for Dance Education. Joshua played and taught guitar in the Tulsa area during high school, participating in the TU Jazz guitar ensemble during his time there. He began cello in high school and took lessons at TU under Diane Bucchianeri. He played for the Tulsa Youth Symphony (TYSO), University of Tulsa Symphony, and regularly plays for church and wedding gigs. Joshua also focused heavily on rehearsal practice and conducting during his undergraduate. He has conducted TYSO and the TU Symphony while forming many ad hoc ensembles during his time at TU. He has also studied music abroad in New Zealand. Understanding of music theory and ergonomic playing are a vital part of Joshua’s teaching style.
